US House Republican Majority Fails to Elect a Speaker – Again
The Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus recognizes what the rest of the nation should by now – Republicans know nothing about governing but know plenty about dysfunction and chaos. Democrats, on the other hand, continue to show unity and a dedication to governing for the American people by uniting all of their House caucus votes behind Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
“Let’s be clear – Republicans have no desire to govern for the American people. They only want to govern for Elon Musk and Donald Trump,” said caucus President Robert Vargas III. “The chaos in Washington by Republicans is nothing new to us here in Texas because the Lone Star State continues to be the Republican chemistry set for chaos, dysfunction, and pain through selfish policies benefiting Musk, Trump, and their billionaire donors.”
The 89th Texas Legislature convenes on January 14th, and the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus is preparing its popcorn to watch our own miniseries of dysfunction and chaos by Texas Republicans as they fight over electing a Speaker of the House dedicated to delivering hateful and destructive policies against hard working Texans that Greg Abbott will sign with a smile. As this dysfunction and chaos plays out from Washington to Austin and anywhere Republicans are in the majority, Texas Stonewall Democrats and the Democratic Party will work tirelessly to bring voice to the voiceless, and advocate for policies that improve the lives of hardworking people.
